On August 10, 2019, North Korea fired what appeared to be two short-range missiles into the sea between the Korean peninsula and Japan.

South Korea says it was the North’s fifth round of weapon tests in under three weeks.

South Korea believes it’s North Korea’s protest against the joint annual military drills performed by South Korea and the US.

US President Donald Trump reacted to the North Korean missile tests saying he received a letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in which Kim said he wanted to meet again and resume nuclear talks between Pyongyang and Washington.
